Hand Luggage - Practical Companions for the Airplane Cabin
When it comes to keeping everything you need close at hand on long flights or stowing your travel accessories in cabin-sized luggage to avoid having to check them in, hand luggage is indispensable. Our tip right away: Please check with your airline about the permitted baggage dimensions in the cabin, as these vary greatly depending on the airline. In our diverse selection of suitcases, bags, and backpacks for hand luggage, you'll find the perfect model for your needs.
Handy Cabin Trolleys as well as Bags and Backpacks for Onboard Luggage
The term "onboard" or "hand luggage" refers to items of luggage that are compact enough to be stowed in the overhead compartment directly above the seats on the plane. Unlike checked baggage, it does not have to be transported in the cargo hold, but can be taken into the cabin.
Most of our carry-on luggage items are stylish cabin trolleys or carry-on suitcases, i.e., suitcases with 2 or 4 wheels, suitable for both vacation and business trips. You will also find classic pilot cases, specifically designed for business travelers and designed for organizing large documents and files. Our range also includes versatile, lightweight carry-on bags, such as stylish weekenders, dynamic duffle bags, and maneuverable travel bags with wheels. Also discover our Hand Luggage Backpacks, which can be carried on your shoulders without straining your back when you're not in the cabin.
Hand Luggage on Different Airlines: Different Dimensions
The suitability of a piece of luggage for the cabin depends on the regulations of the respective airline, as each airline sets its own dimensions. These are checked directly at the check-in counter using a standardized box that has the prescribed maximum dimensions. Your cabin trolley and other hand luggage must fit completely into this box. The dimensions of carry-on luggage therefore refer not only to the main body of the bag. Handles, outer compartments, and the wheels of the cabin trolley are also measured – and this is how we measure the products in the bag department store.
The dimensions for carry-on luggage vary considerably from airline to airline. They generally range in size from 56 x 45 x 25 cm (height x width x depth) to 55 x 35 x 20 cm. In the bag store, all products that do not exceed the IATA (International Air Transport Association) recommended dimensions for hand luggage of max. 56 x 45 x 25 cm are marked as hand luggage. Please note, however, that this category may also include items of hand luggage that are considered too large by other airlines. Therefore, please check with your airline about the permitted dimensions for your carry-on luggage and select your model accordingly.
